Designed and developed a daughterboard combining a Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) with a 16-bit, 200 MSPS digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for Arbitrary Waveform Generation (AWG). The board interfaced with the Avnet 400-pin FMC connector on the AUBoard-15P, leveraging its AMD Artix™ UltraScale+™ XCAU15P FPGA.
The design incorporated external reference clock conditioning, enabling synchronization of the FPGA and generated PPG and AWG signals to an external clock reference.
The project also delivered custom FPGA firmware in Verilog and example C code for PC-to-FPGA communication over PCI Express (PCIe).
